iPhone, Googlephone jobfinder app launched

Jobcentre Plus vacancies are now available to jobseekers using handheld devices like iPhone and Google phone. Sound like a gimmick for geeks? No it's actually a pretty useful little gizmo.

The app is meant to make it easier to search for jobs by location, to save personal preferences and get information about individual vacancies. Mobile devices can already get JCP vacancies through their web browsers and the Government says that last month alone 60,000 web searches were made using mobile devices. The new app can automatically notify people of new vacancies matching their preferences. It also has Google Maps functionality and, within a year, should also have GPS integration.
