What is this thing called Indus Delta?

Having worked in the welfare-to-work industry for a number of years, we've noticed a few gaps in the support services that make a profession into, well, a profession.

We want to help practitioners find out about their industry, tell their stories, and develop their identity as people who help people to find work. We want to help companies to communicate better with each other, sharing knowledge and practice. And we want to do it, for the most part, for free.

Our Services

  • Welfare-to-work newswire - Our weekly newswire is subscribed to by staff in over 350 organisations, including ERSA, DWP, all the major providers, most of the smaller ones, support specialists and charities, and various City firms looking for the next business opportunity. We gather together all the stories of interest to the sector, plus the occasional exclusive, and send them to your inbox in easy-to-read form.
  • Articles & Analysis - Whether it's analysis of New Deal performance, breaking the latest bidding results, putting together a financial model for flexible New Deal, or looking into perverse incentives, we publish exclusive reports giving invaluable assistance to anyone interested in moving people towards work.
  • Discussion forums - The site readership brings together thousands of years of experience from every corner of the industry. All of it is accessible by posting a simple question on the forums. Or you could just, y'know, gossip.
  • Industry search engine - It's Google, but limited to UK welfare-to-work websites. Handy!
  • Consultancy - This is the only bit we charge for. We're not actually that interested in taking on any major consultancy work right now though. We're trying to give something back to the welfare-to-work community, and working on this site is the most effective way of achieving that.

Where's the catch?

There isn't one. The newswire, discussion forums, and search engine will remain free. In time, we might introduce some extra paid services to help pay the bills, but the primary purpose of the site is to help all of the people in the industry in making welfare-to-work work.

No, really, where's the catch?

OK, here it is: This is an online community. The forums, the analysis, the knowledge base all rely on your input to make them work. So if you find the site useful, the catch is that you need to post something occasionally to keep it buzzing. Some guidance on posting to the site can be found here, and the legal stuff is here. You'll need to register and log in before you start posting, to protect the site from spam.

You still haven't answered my questions!

Well, you could look around the site a bit more, or get in touch if you want to ask us anything.

I'm happy now. How do I sign up?

You can register here. This allows you to sign up for the weekly newswire and contribute to site discussions.
