ESG wins contract to run three new vocational training colleges in Saudi Arabia

Young Saudi men and women are set to benefit from vocational training and education delivered by a leading UK employment and skills provider.

The Employment & Skills Group (ESG) will run three new colleges as part of the Kingdom’s Colleges of Excellence Programme, which will see a further 12 technical and vocational training institutions added to its existing campuses across KSA.

ESG will operate a cluster of new purpose-built facilities in Al Quwaiiyah and Dammam, after being awrded the contract, following an international competition open to leading education organizations from around the world. It will run for five years, opening two female colleges and one male college: and employment-related skills and qualifications will be delivered to over 6,000 Saudi students when at full capacity, with their first year focused on English language training, seen as essential criteria when seeking business employment within the country.

Speaking about the win, the Group's CEO, Gavin Freed, said: “We are delighted that ESG has been chosen as one of the key providers to operate these prestigious colleges in the Kingdom. Our belief, just as it is in the UK, is that education and employment-specific skills go hand-in-hand if young people are to stand a chance in successfully competing for jobs in today’s labor market. We’re looking forward to helping to positively shape the lives of young people across Saudi Arabia”.
