Procurement channel opened for Low Value Welfare to Work Training

DWP has announced that it is inviting suppliers to bid for Low Value Welfare to Work training provision("LVP"). A new system for securing packages of this welfare to work related training will begin from 22nd March 2010.

Following a pilot in three Jobcentre Plus regions (North West, Yorkshire and the Humber and East Midlands), DWP is implementing a new system known as "Request for Quotation" in the remaining regions in England and in Scotland and Wales.

LVP is defined as one-off training requirements up to a value of £50k. Requirements can vary from as little as a single day's training to a number of week's activity (often leading to a relevant qualification) with a value ranging from £100 to several thousand pounds. DWP is moving from a paper-based system to an on-line application form to become registered as a potential supplier.

DWP will send requests for quote directly to registered providers who will then respond electronically to DWP. The register of provider capability will be based on a geography of counties.

Providers interested in supplying LVP should go to the DWP website where there is a brifing pack and a link to the procurment portal. Go to:
