One-day conference enabling agencies to evidence the need for their service; demonstrate their impact and improve service delivery.

16 November 2011 | London

It is important that the homelessness sector demonstrates its impact. Collecting good quality information about your service enables you to show the value and need for your service to commissioners and funders. It also allows you to identify gaps in service provision that can be met to improve the support you offer to your clients.

In the last spending review, funding for homelessness services was cut, but without the strength and depth of the data that we had, which clearly demonstrated our impact, it would have been cut considerably more. It is therefore critical that we continue to collect information now in preparation for the next review in 3 years time. Without this we won’t be able to prove our worth and sustain our funding and services.

Combining the Government perspective with the cutting edge of practice, this conference will cut through the complexity and provide simple solutions to help managers and commissioners make evidencing need and success a reality within the homelessness sector.

THIS CONFERENCE WILL HELP YOU TO:
• sustain funding and services
• improve the support offered to clients
• identify gaps in service provision
• prove the value of your service to new funders

BY THE END OF THE DAY YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
• understand the value of your data
• discuss practical, simple ways to collect information
• be able to demonstrate the value of collecting data to your staff
• understand how to comply with data protection guidance
• learn how to share information across agencies safely
• understand how to analyse and run simple reports from your data
• examine key pieces of information that a funder looks for
• understand how to evidence the need for your service
• learn how a service has changed as a result of a better understanding of their clients and their needs
• find out about a series of practical tools that can support you in this.
