Positive experience of the Work Programme -

Let's balance things and hear from those who have had a good experience of the Work Programme, such as retaining their job, getting a better job, smooth tupe experience etc. If you want to slag the WP off there are plenty of other topics for you, please keep this on topic for a balanced view.

Despite many of my posts sounding like I have had a bad experience. The opposite is the case. My original employer kept me informed, my new employer is slick and professional and will eventually pay me more. However (and this is the issue). I will still be under threat of redundancy. In my more negative posts I have tried to be supportive of those less fortunate then myself.

Thanks Stan, appreciate the honesty, hope it works out.

Hi, my experience (sadly unlike many) has been very positive. My employer (who I have been with for 6 years) have kept me fully informed throughout the whole process. The incoming WP Prime, who I transfer to on 20.06.11, have met with me on a one-to-one basis, to discuss available roles, locations etc.

I have been informed that redundancy consultation will begin as soon as I transfer, as there are 200 people in the pool and initially only 105 jobs.
However, I anticipated this anyway but must say i'm very happy with the level of comunication i'm getting from my new employer. They have been transparent and honest about why the business needs to make some redundancies (which all makes sense) and have applied a criteria which I should score well on (previous performance, sickness, qualifications etc) so i'm hoping to secure a position with them post transfer.

Things are looking good :)

Glad to hear people are having good experiences - its all been doom and gloom lately

Good to have a thread to show another side of experiences, however I do think it may be a bit early yet to pronounce. As for myself, the process was handled well by my original employers and my new employers are acting fairly and professionally, although they did leave it a bit late to accept that TUPE applied to Progress2work (10 days before transfer). I don't blame them for the delay as TUPE eligibility was certainly not cut and dried. The reason I say that it is early to pronounce, is that, as with the majority of cases, there is still the threat of redundancy even for those fortunate enough to have had a successful and easy TUPE, but I don't doubt that any redundancies from my current employer will be handled in a fair and proper manner. My comments on ID have only been to inform others, less fortunate, on what was happening elsewhere. It would appear, from many posts on ID, that there have been some organisations who have not been so professional, fair, or correct in their approach and I want to express my support to all those on the receiving end of this.

Well done Dakotalady, i'm glad that at least a handfull of progress2work staff managed to stay alive in the UK, although 10 days before transfer was cutting it a bit thin...,i was involved in a TUPE transfer back in 1999 that happened hours before a thousand plus walked out of the door in a single establishment. Stuff happens so they say.

In the end though, i think you guys in your own company are the only P2W staff to be deemed within scope for a transfer.

Alas the P2W staff in my own CPA are in the wrong postcode, and allied to the wrong narrow minded prime
