Deputy Liberal Democrat leader Simon Hughes will “need persuading” of Conservative housing proposal

As you are aware DWP has a website available for you to post your comments regarding the government’s plans to reform the welfare to work system.

Nearly 100 comments were received on the first two themes and DWP wishes to thank everyone who took part.

Following this successful launch three new themes - Efficiencies, Customers and Implementation - are now available for discussion. These will only be available until 13th August.

DWP look forward to receiving your input and hearing more of your views.

21st Century Welfare strategy document launched

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions has launched the strategy document 21st Century Welfare.  The paper proposes a number of radical options for reform of the benefit system to make it significantly simpler and to incentivise people to take a job by making work pay.  Read more here.

This is a reminder that this is the last week to submit your thoughts on Capital Raising and the Payment Model.

From Monday 2 August comments will be requested on Implementation, Customers and Efficiencies.
