What's up with Work Choice?
A large number of providers are still hanging-on for the announcement of preferred bidders for Work Choice. People on the inside track say it's "imminent". But that was yesterday morning. So what's up DWP?
The announcement is about 3 weeks later than expected and the delay was caused, according to the DWP, by the large number of bids. As a result, the evaluation took longer than expected. However, DWP says the delay should not impact the transition period or the planned 'go live' date" in October 2010. The Department also says that contract awards are still scheduled "for the end of April 2010".
So, any bright ideas on how to give DWP a subtle shove? Perhaps we should publish the email addresses of the civil servants responsible. No ... that would be jolly irresponsible.

I'm told that the winners are being told today and tomorrow. However there won't be any public announcement just yet.
You're right Raven I got word earlier that successful bidders were being informed confidentially yesterday and today. So, I guess, anyone who got no news, then it's not very good news. Oddly DWP seems reluctant to publish the list. We'll doubtless find out why. Perhaps the Department is beginning to apply that old job interview maxim "if you don't hear from us by ..."
