Apprenticeship Certificates England (ACE) goes live
The Alliance of Sector Skills Councils today confirmed that the new online certification request system 'Apprenticeship Certificates England' will be launched next Wednesday (25th January 2012). It will be available for Sector Skills Councils (SSCs), Sector Skills Bodies (SSBs), issuing bodies and providers to view today however.

Joint Statement of Intent and Call for Evidence Welfare to Work Supply Chain Relationships Workstream
The Employment Related Services Association (ERSA), the trade association for the welfare to work industry, ACEVO, the representative body for third sector leaders, and NCVO, the national voluntary sector membership body, intend to work together over the course of 2012 to increase the quality and quantity of supply chain relationships within the welfare to work industry involving the voluntary and community sectors.

Parkhouse Bell new Managing Director, Craig Boucher
Parkhouse Bell is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Boucher to the position of Managing Director UK. Craig has an extensive career in teacher and medical recruitment and joins the London office of Parkhouse Bell to grow the UK business. Craig will also work closely with Gavin Walker who is moving from the London office, where he has worked for over four years, to take up the position of Managing Director Middle East, based in Dubai with effect from 20th February 2012.
Helen McAnally who founded Parkhouse Bell in 2007 will continue to be based in London and will focus on senior appointments in the UK as well as having overall responsibility for the growth of the Parkhouse Bell Group in the UK, Australia and the Middle East.

Last week we launched the Contracts Explorer on Indus Delta to enable you to see easily who is delivering welfare to work contracts and where. Innovation Fund Partnership Forum
DWP has published results for Round 1 of the Innovation Fund.
Six organisations have been selected as preferred bidders. Post tender clarifications will take place in January 2012, with the intention of having contracts awarded during February 2012.

IPPR claims Youth Contract must go further
Kayte Lawton, senior research fellow at IPPR argues the Youth Contract does not go far enough in helping young people into work. She argues that all young people under the Youth Contract should be guaranteed a minimum wage job after a year of unemployment.

Following a review and evaluation of the Approved College and Training Organisations Register (ACTOR), a new Register of Training Organisations has been announced. This went live on the 18th January at 5pm.

Training providers and colleges join forces to launch scheme to help unemployed get skilled and back to work
The NCG, which includes the national training provider Intraining, the Newcastle College Group and West Lancashire College, has launched the Employment Gateway concept. This aims to help the unemployed gain work, training and employability skills.

Working Links Moving On project in London rolled out
This month, January 2012, Working Links Moving On project will have gone live in London, providing ex-offenders in custody or in the community with assistance to enter into education, training or employment. Support will especially be focused on gang members and veterans. They will also receive help into supported accommodation.
