Progress 2 Work /Link Up
With the new work programme being introduced, i would like to gauge comment as to whether contracts such as Progress2Work and Link Up should still remain stand-a-lone projects.
Having ran Progress2Work and Link Up for four years, I personally believe this should be a primary focus of the new work programme. Often seen as a low value contract based on its service fee structure and outcome based payments, the project runs providing specialist advice and guidance to those with barriers to work.
I believe this still should be a voluntary option but more attention should be drawn to this type of service with more emphasis on rewarding engagement and retention on the programme to clients who achieve outcomes be these Further education, specialist/mainstream training or entry into employment.
I would also like to see Progress2Work be more in the community based as opposed to being run in centres.
