Sources for the Contracts and Providers database

The database of contracts and providers brings together information from the sources listed below.

Contract awards published on the DWP website

The DWP normally publishes contract awards on its website nowadays. Older contracts are not part of this arrangement. These are very likely to be accurate, barring contract terminations or transfers. However, they do not normally identify contract start or end dates, performance targets, or contract values. The delivery dates therefore involve a certain amount of guesswork.

The 'Dirty' internal DWP contracts database

We've obtained the DWP's own list of contracts. However, the list is about as dirty as a spreadsheet can get, and has required considerable cleaning up to make it onto the website. Numerous contracts on the spreadsheet were missing so many details that we had to delete them - often just a provider name and start date were provided, with the contract name and delivery area remaining nameless. None of the contracts had end dates, so we've had to estimate these. Please treat this information with some degree of caution.

Other sources of information

Sadly, the FoI request for the complete traffic light report on current contracts did not have details of individual contracts. Ideally the main source of information should be the providers themselves - there is no commercial value in hiding what contracts you have, and plenty in letting people know you're operating in their area. You can e-mail contract details for us to upload by getting in touch. If you're registered and logged in, you can add or edit your provider record, or add new contracts individually.
